Osinbajo, 35 Governors, others to grace Pa Okowa’s burial ceremony in Owa today

Delta State Government has revealed that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and governors from the 35 states are expected to be in attendance for the burial of Pa Arthur Okowa.

Pa Okowa died on January 28 after a brief illness at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba, at the age of 88.

Governor Okowa had earlier announced that the burial of his father would be private to the family members, due to the ravaging second wave of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Speaking in Asaba, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Delta State, Mr Olise Ifejika disclosed that the state would receive Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo for the ceremony.

He also mentioned that arrays of personalities ranging from Governors, Senators, Ministers, the House of Representatives and House of Assembly Ministers and other political office Holders.

He also disclosed that strict COVID-19 measures would be adhered to.

He said, “The Governor has warned that he does not want too many vehicles around causing traffic jam, which would make it difficult for dignitaries to make it to the church.

“Not everyone is expected to be at the church service because it is a community church which is not so big,” he said.
