Healthcare for All: Delta Speaker's Wife Touches Lives with Free Medical Outreach in Gbaramatu Kingdom

The residents of Ogidigben and Ajudaibo communities in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, on Monday experienced excitement as Mrs. Timiebi Emomotimi Guwor, the wife of the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, extended free medical treatment through the Guwor Emomotimi Foundation (GEF).

This healthcare initiative targeted elderly individuals, children, and pregnant women within the communities. The medical outreach, inaugurated in Ogbe-Ijoh town, the local government’s headquarters, reflects a dedicated effort to enhance the overall well-being of the people.

Commencing on Monday, November 20, 2023, the medical outreach, initiated in honor of Mrs. Guwor’s 40th birthday, aimed to address various health challenges faced by residents, particularly indigent patients who may struggle to afford medical care.

Mr. Olueh Eddy Emiko, representing Mrs. Timiebi Emomotimi Guwor, emphasized the significance of the medical outreach in catering to the diverse health needs of the community’s residents.

Doctors, Gift Otuonye and Shalom Afogho, revealed that elderly individuals were identified with health issues such as diabetes, hypertension, ulcer, and maternal conditions. Children were attended to for upper respiratory tract infections, helminthiasis, malaria, dyspepsia, and gastroenteritis, receiving both care and prescribed medications.

The beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Mrs. Timiebi Guwor Emomotimi for the invaluable free medical services provided, acknowledging the positive impact on their health and well-being.
