High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has urged residents of Kwara State to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, linking his appeal to the need for better roads, improved healthcare and a stronger education system.

Tompolo, the Grand Patron of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, made the call through his representative, High Chief Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services, during the inauguration of the movement’s Kwara State chapter in Ilorin.

Speaking on Tompolo’s behalf, Pondi said: “If we want better roads, we need to vote for Tinubu. If we want a better health sector, we need to vote for Tinubu. If we want a better educational system, we need to vote for Tinubu.”

He also urged residents to vote for candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels in the 2027 elections, arguing that the president needed the support of the National Assembly and state legislatures to implement his programmes.

To support the mobilisation effort, Tompolo deployed 34 campaign vehicles to Kwara State, with the announcement made at the inauguration.

Pondi said the vehicles would strengthen grassroots outreach and help communicate the president’s policies to residents across the state.

He explained that the movement would take its campaign to communities, markets, churches and mosques through door-to-door engagements.

In his remarks, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq congratulated the newly inaugurated executives and urged them to engage residents honestly, listen to their concerns and communicate their needs to the appropriate authorities.

The governor also advised members to shun violence and defamation in their political activities.

“We’re not here for violence and defamation. Respect everyone you can see,” he said.

AbdulRazaq further urged the movement to work with existing APC structures at the national, state and community levels.

Also speaking, the APC governorship candidate in Kwara State, Yakubu Danladi-Saliu, expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in the 2027 elections.

He described the inauguration as part of a nationwide mobilisation effort and expressed support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“This is not just an inauguration of PBAT Door-to-Door. We are going round the country, and we are here in Ilorin, Kwara State. We are at home. Tinubu is for Kwara, Kwara is for Tinubu,” he said.

The National Coordinator of the movement, Sunday Adekanbi Asuku, also urged residents to mobilise support for Tinubu and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the elections.

Asuku credited the president’s administration with salary payments by state governments and what he described as the absence of university strikes, urging voters to support Tinubu for another term.

“I am a product of ASUU strike, and I know what it means. All thanks to Mr President,” he said, referring to disruptions caused by industrial action in the university system.

The inauguration forms part of the movement’s efforts to expand its grassroots presence and mobilise support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
