Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has unveiled “MORE Plus” as the theme of his re-election campaign, charging members of the All Progressives Congress Campaign Council to mobilise voters across wards and polling units ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Oborevwori spoke on Thursday, October 22, during the inauguration of the Delta State APC Campaign Council in Asaba.
He described membership of the council as a call to service, urging members to demonstrate unity, discipline and dedication in working for the electoral success of President Bola Tinubu, himself and other APC candidates.
The governor said the party must take its campaigns beyond rallies and political meetings by engaging market women, youths, workers, farmers and traders through door-to-door visits and direct interaction.

He charged local government and ward coordinators to strengthen their structures, collaborate with support groups and ensure that the party’s message reached every polling unit.
Oborevwori urged members to campaign on the records of the federal and state governments, citing his administration’s M.O.R.E Agenda and its programmes in infrastructure, education, healthcare, workers’ welfare, youth empowerment and security.
“Our achievements must speak for us, but we must also be prepared to explain them convincingly,” he said.
He assured residents that political activities would not distract his administration from governance, stressing that ongoing projects and development programmes would continue during the campaign period.
The governor also appealed to politicians and their supporters to avoid hate speech, preserve peace and prevent political differences from dividing the state.
In his remarks, Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme commended Oborevwori for aligning Delta State with the Federal Government and urged party members to consolidate the relationship through grassroots mobilisation.
Onyeme called on members to publicise what he described as Tinubu’s achievements in local government autonomy, education funding, grassroots development, security, electricity and road infrastructure.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, defended the President’s economic reforms, saying difficult decisions were necessary to address longstanding economic challenges.
While acknowledging the hardship associated with the reforms, Keyamo maintained that the measures were intended to tackle underlying problems, including the cost of fuel subsidies.
Earlier, Delta APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, said the inauguration demonstrated the party’s readiness for the 2027 elections. He urged council members to work together, mobilise peacefully and translate the achievements of APC-led governments into electoral support.
Former Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who spoke on behalf of Delta North Senatorial District, said expectations were high following the mass defection of political leaders and supporters from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC in April 2025.
Okowa urged the council to demonstrate the party’s strength at the polls, stressing that direct engagement with voters should take priority over reliance on rallies.
Speaking for Delta Central, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor expressed satisfaction that the APC had become the ruling party in the state and pledged support for the re-election of Tinubu and Oborevwori.
Former Secretary to the State Government, Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay, who represented Delta South, said the Oborevwori administration’s performance would strengthen the party’s campaign. He assured the council of the district’s commitment to mobilising votes for APC candidates.
Former APC National Woman Leader and Executive Director of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank, Stella Okotete, urged women to intensify mobilisation, setting a target of at least 75 per cent of the votes for Tinubu and other candidates of the party.
Responding, the council’s Director-General, Senator James Manager, pledged to work with party leaders and members, describing the assignment as demanding and requiring collective effort and sustained grassroots engagement.
The campaign council is chaired by Oborevwori, with Manager as Director-General and Mr Chiedu Ebie as Deputy Director-General.
