THE DAY IN PICTURES: Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha plays host to Amnesty boss at his palace in Obotobo community
The Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Elder (Capt.) Dr. Joseph I. Timiyan (JP), Agbonu, Torububou 1, on Friday, February 10, 2023, played host to the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Major General Barry Ndiomu (Retd), at his palace in Obotobo community, Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta state.
Major General Ndiomu and his entourage arrived the palace at about 1pm and were warmly received by the King, members of his traditional Council, women groups, ex-agitators, youth groups, social cultural organizations among others.
The first class traditional ruler who is the Chairman, Delta State Ijaw Traditional Rulers Forum, used the opportunity provided by the visit to demand from the Interim Administrator foreign and local scholarships, skill acquisition and other empowerment programmes to the youths of Ogulagh kingdom.
The Interim Administrator who is presently criticized by stakeholders for taking very unpopular decisions as it affects the Amnesty Programme departed Ogulagh kingdom at about 3pm.
Highlights of the event include the presentation of gifts to the paramount ruler, presentation of cola nuts, cultural dance by the women, group photographs, among others.
