Rivers Assembly Leadership Battle Settled: Court Backs Edison Ehie, Fubara’s Ally As Speaker

A High Court in Port Harcourt has affirmed Edison Ehie as the legitimate Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Edison Ehie, aligned with Governor Siminalayi Fubara, faced suspension and removal from his leadership position amid the Assembly’s crisis.

The court has issued a restraining order against Martin Amaewhule and Dumle Maol, preventing them from presenting themselves as speaker or interfering with Rt. Hon. Edison Ogerenye Ehie’s activities as the Assembly’s speaker.

Additionally, the court strongly cautioned against employing thugs or police officers to forcefully access the Assembly Complex.
