Pipeline Surveillance Contract: Egbema ex-agitators disown Aroni’s statement
By Enaibo Asiayei
Leaders of Niger Delta ex-agitators in Egbema kingdom, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta state, have stated that they are not a party to the recent ill-publication made by Mr Aroni Oputu concerning the non- employment of Egbema youths by Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.
Tantita, a private security outfit in Nigeria, is owned by the leader of the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo. Since their engagement by the Federal Government, Tantita, along with security agencies, has been spearheading the fight against oil theft and pipelines vandalism in the Niger Delta thereby increasing the nation’s daily production.
Speaking to newsmen on behalf of leaders and concerned bodies in the kingdom, a prominent leader of Egbema Ex-agitators and also former MEND Commander, Norway Tondigha, said that the publication of Aroni and his supporters should be disregarded as Aroni is not counted among known generals in the kingdom but a mere political general.
According to Norway, Aroni is just an attention seeker and Tantita has employees of over a thousand persons in Egbema kingdom and they are happy with their jobs as the rate of joblessness and criminal act before now not just in Egbema kingdom but in the whole of Warri North Local Government.
Norway described the publication of Aroni as a result of selfishness, greed and unreasonable.
He said: “Before Tantita Security Surveillance Contract was approved by the Federal government, the rate of criminality was something I cannot describe because there is no perfect word to describe it for now, kidnapping, sea pirates, oil theft and crime related activities was so high because of joblessness, but since the creation of Tantita we have been enjoying peace in our environment, therefore the publication made by Aroni is termed as barbaric, greed and selfishness and should be disregarded by the public.”
He stressed that because of the efforts of Tantita, peace have returned to the area and this is because of the organisational efforts of High Chief Government Tompolo
He made it clear that Egbema Ex-Agitators are not part of the purported selfish publication made by Aroni Oputu who claims as a leader in the Kingdom, adding that General Ezekiel Akpasibewei is the leader of Ex-Agitators in Egbema Kingdom.
Norway asserted that Aroni is losing focus on the ideals of Egbema Kingdom Peace Force, that stands to foster peace and oneness and the former agitator can’t be a rival to High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo.
He continued: “We expected Mr Aroni to be working in synergy with Tantita for the great milestones achieved in this period of engagement to curb oil theft in the Niger Delta region, not on this path of traitorous move.
“Mr. Aroni should learn to seek other things than making statements that are not called for.
He further disclosed that Tantita headed by High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo has made peace return to the area and Egbema leaders are grateful.
He said: “We expected Mr Aroni to be working in synergy with Tantita for the great milestones achieved in this period of engagement to curb oil theft in the Niger Delta region, not on this path of traitorous move.
“Mr. Aroni should learn to seek other things than making statements that are not called for, it is very funny to say that you are eating from the table of Tantita and suddenly, you want to take it away, is it not greed and jealousy?”
Norway further tasked the Bola Armed Tinubu led government to ignore whatever selfish and self centered publication made by any pressure group and re-award the contract to Tantita.
He also disclosed some of the known generals in the Kingdom which include General Ezikiel Akpasibewei, General Austin Aboh, General Siemens, General Luka, General Felix Mieminiye, General Goki, General Agbuke, among others.
