DIRECTIVE TO RELOCATE OIL COMPANIES HEADQUARTERS TO NIGER DELTA: GROUP COMMENDS FG

Niger Delta ex-agitators, under the aegis of Niger Delta Development Movement, NDDM, has commended the Federal Government for directing oil multinationals to relocate their headquarters to the Niger Delta region, adding that the directive would facilitate development in the oil-rich region.

Paul Tamarau-Epumokumo Toruwei, president of the group, while giving this commendation on behalf of the group, also appealed to the Federal Government to demilitarize the region and stop the man-hunt of one of the foremost leader in the Niger Delta, High Chief Government Ekpemukpolo, a.k.a Tompolo.

He described Tompolo has the Messiah of the region, adding that Tompolo is the only “government” that has brought out thousands of youths from the dungeon of slavery.

According to him, apart from moving headquarters of these oil multinationals to the region, it was high time cleanup of all oil pollutions across the region begun, adding that this period all groups have stopped bombings was the best period to commence developmental projects across the region.

“There is no more bombings in the area. All the militia groups have sheathe their sword, so the Federal Government should take the advantage of the current peace to expedite the development of the area” he said
While calling on the Federal Government to commence the payments of outstanding stipends to ex-agitators, Paul Toruwei said the amnesty programme has helped in facilitating the current peace in the region.

He therefore advised elders and youths of the region to be united, describing unity as the sure way to achieving greater things.
