Leader of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has called for a convincing victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos State in 2027, urging voters to prevent a repeat of the outcome of the 2023 presidential election in the state.

Tompolo made the call through his representative, High Chief Kestin Pondi, during a rally for Tinubu’s re-election in Lagos on Tuesday. The event also featured the presentation of 57 campaign vehicles to the movement’s state coordinators.
“What happened in 2023 must not be repeated. He must win convincingly in 2027,” he said in the message delivered by Pondi.
He urged eligible residents to take advantage of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Continuous Voter Registration exercise and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards to participate in the election.

Describing Tinubu as one of their own, Tompolo said Lagos residents had a responsibility to stand firmly behind the president as he pursued reforms at the national level.
He described Tinubu as a courageous and selfless leader willing to take difficult decisions regardless of their implications for his re-election, arguing that the administration’s reforms were already benefiting Nigerians.

“Lagos is the city for all Nigerians because someone stood firm to restructure and reform it. From the time he came into office in 1999 until he left in 2007, Lagos was the envy of other states,” he said.
Tompolo maintained that successive administrations in Lagos had built on the foundation laid by Tinubu, adding that the president now had an opportunity to extend that development approach across the country.

“Today, he has a higher responsibility and an opportunity to replicate the Lagos success story across Nigeria through reforms. There is massive development across the states today because reforms are working,” he said.
He urged supporters to take the movement’s campaign message to communities and households across Lagos and other parts of the country.
Also addressing the rally, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said Nigeria was moving towards economic stability under the Tinubu administration.
The governor credited the administration with road construction, support for students, an increased minimum wage and funding for pension payments.
“Why won’t we vote for him? The entire Lagos is for Tinubu. All our votes are for Tinubu. You’ve done it before; you’ll do it again,” Sanwo-Olu said.
“We will touch every corner of Lagos with our message to re-elect Tinubu. Go out and convince everyone that Tinubu is the candidate to vote for.”
Sanwo-Olu criticised opposition politicians whom he accused of prioritising electoral victory over clear plans for the country. He also questioned the consistency of politicians who had moved repeatedly between political parties.
Earlier, the movement’s National Coordinator, Sunday Asuku, urged residents to obtain their PVCs, stressing that electoral participation should be the basis of support for Tinubu.
“We must stand our ground and deliver Tinubu with PVCs, not with guns or intimidation. Lagos must not put their son, Tinubu, to shame,” he said.
Asuku also called on Nigerians to use the 2027 presidential election to retire politicians he described as “serial contesters” and “enemies of Nigeria.”
