…Says Niger Delta’s Story Must Be Preserved

The Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief Kestin Pondi, has declared that the Niger Delta has moved beyond the era of arms into a new era of peace and unity.

He made this declaration while unveiling the Niger Delta Media Centre at the Niger Delta Night of Honor 2025, held on August 28 at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, as part of the celebration of GbaramatuVoice’s 10th Anniversary.

Pondi noted that the media centre represents a vision to preserve the region’s history and ensure that the Niger Delta story is told and archived for future generations.

“Today is a very eventful day, 10 years of telling the Niger Delta story, 10 years of dreaming. Many dreams have died because there were no supporters to nurture them. This dream is alive because it has been nurtured, but it needs to stay alive and it needs to grow stronger,” he said.

He stressed the importance of collective responsibility in supporting the initiative. “We are all here to witness the unveiling of an edifice that is geared towards changing that narrative. It’s not Tantita’s dream, it is the Niger Delta’s dream. It is not GbaramatuVoice’s dream, it is the Niger Delta’s dream.”

Pondi further urged stakeholders to embrace peace and unity as the foundation for progress. “We have gone past the era of arms; we are now in the era of peace and unity. In building peace and unity, we must tell the stories right and preserve them appropriately, and this is what will push us in that direction.”

He concluded with a strong commitment to the vision: “Because I have unveiled this, I want to tell you once again, Jacob, Chairman is committed to making this a reality. That is our support. We are committed to making this a reality, and we need everybody to support this.”

The unveiling of the Niger Delta Media Centre—described as a multibillion-naira edifice—marks a new chapter in GbaramatuVoice’s mission to promote peace, preserve history, and shape the narrative of the Niger Delta.
