If the words high flyer were a person, it would be Manuella Oribim Dagogo-George. The young Ijaw lady made history at the University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT where she recently finished from in grand style.

The 23-year-old Dagogo-George broke the 48-year-old academic record of the university by becoming the first pharmacy student to bag a first-class at the prestigious institution with a grade point of 4.52 and bagging six (6) different awards, thereby making her the overall best graduating student.

Dagogo-George who hails from Buguma, headquarters of the Kalabari Kingdom as well as of the Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, has been able to make the nation proud.

The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) held its 11th Induction of Pharmacy graduates on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Abuja Campus of the Institution.

University of Port Harcourt is located in Choba in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, Nigeria, was established in 1975 as University College, Port Harcourt and was given university status in 1977. The University of Port Harcourt was ranked the sixth in Africa and the first in Nigeria by Times Higher Education in 2015. In July 2021, Prof. George Owunari was appointed substantive Vice-Chancellor of the university.
