WARRI – Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, has said that the support of women of Delta State was largely responsible for the electoral victory and achievements of the Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa-led Delta State Government since inception in 2015.
Otuaro, who said Okowa/Otuaro ticket still counts on them, prayed Almighty God, who sees their fine works, to bless the women who massively turned out on Thursday in Warri, in a Delta South mega rally for Okowa/Otuaro 2019 under auspices of Delta Smart Ladies with Queen Betty Efekhoda chairing the steering committee.
“I am here in the stead of Governor of Delta State, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa who appreciates your effort. I want to thank you for your wonderful support.
“I recall that in 2015, you women crisscrossed the nooks and crannies of Delta State just to ensure that the Okowa/Otuaro gubernatorial ticket succeeds. You will go with Almighty God’s blessings and continue to enjoy our logistics support”, Otuaro said.
Earlier, National Coordinator of Delta Smart Ladies, Chief (Mrs.) Patience Nkem Okwuofo, said the group’s support for Okowa/Otuaro is predicated on the sterling and glaring performance of the present Delta State administration.
Holding out Otuaro as a humble deputy, she said Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, has touched lives of Deltans including youths, women and widows, adding that Okowa dared the seemingly impossible by bringing Africa to Delta State in the Senior Athletics Competition tagged Asaba 2018 after completing the Stephen Keshi Stadium.
Chief (Mrs.) Okwuofo said the group was increasingly successful in its ongoing massive mobilization of women across the state, even as she declared the first Monday of every month, to the election, a women fasting day for God Almighty’s power to dislodging every barrier towards successfully returning Okowa/Otuaro back to Government House in 2019.
The rally was attended by women from all the local government areas of Delta South namely Bomadi, Burutu, Patani, Isoko North, Isoko South, Warri South, Warri North and Warri South-West, all of who danced past to the accompaniment of music, in their colours.
Also present were the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman of Delta South Senatorial District, Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba; the Political Adviser to Governor Okowa, Chief Festus Ochonogor; Dr. Joseph Otumara, Chairman of Warri South Council, Hon. Mike Tidi; Mr. Emomotimi Guwor, Warri South-West Delta State House of Assembly Aspirant; Chief Vero Tangbowei,Delta South PDP woman leader; Hon. Rose Tulu, amongst others.
