…the whole world will be in Warri – Organizers
…event to showcase the beauty, peace of Niger Delta
Following the huge success recorded in last year’s maiden edition of the Warri Mega Fiesta, the organizers have decided to hold the follow-up second edition of the nation’s number one, mega concert on Easter Sunday.
According to the organizers, Nigeria’s current two top Hip-Hop acts, Wizkid and Davido will headline the April Fool’s day event, while other top artistes would also perform at the event that is geared towards boosting tourism in the state.
This was contained in a recent release signed and issued by Chief Ekomieyefa Uduboh, the Group Managing Director of KFT conglomerate, the sponsor of the programme.
According to the release, the purpose of this fiesta is to actually showcase to the world the peaceful side of Warri, contrary to the general perception of the city as a hot bed of violence.
The statement reads; “We want to use the opportunity to prove to the world that one can actually come to Warri to invest, holiday or for entertainment without any harm or hinderance.
“Last year, we had an unprecedented number of foreigners from different parts of the world, who enjoyed the concert without any mishap recorded.”
Chief Ekomieyefa Uduboh further explained that the event which will hold at the KFT Place, NNPC Housing Complex Road, Warri is aimed at bringing together people of diverse background, environment, to have fun and social interactions without any danger to their persons.
He explained that this unique endeavour will promote the peaceful ambiance of the town and the Niger Delta region as a whole.
On the modalities been worked out for the top event, the KTF Boss boasted that the successful first edition was a tip of the iceberg, but this year’s edition will be the “mother of all concerts”.
He disclosed that arrangements to have the likes of megastars such as Davido, Wizkid and a host of other prominent artistes to perform at the event are in top gear.
He touted Warri as a popular entertainment city. He also said that the concert will lure back top Warri artistes who are doing well in places like Lagos and other places.
“When you visit cities such as Lagos and other top cities, you will notice that majority of the comedians and entertainers there are from this city, so this fiesta will also function as an avenue to bring them back home,” he said.
The organizers enjoined all lovers of good music and top entertainment to be present at the event, even as it promised adequate security and a fun-filled day.
