VP Slot: If you drop Okowa and choose Wike, just forget our votes – Igbo youths warn Atiku

On Tuesday, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council urged Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar to reconsider replacing Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as his running mate.

According to OYC, if Atiku decides to replace Okowa with Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, he should disregard their votes.

The group that remarked that it was the South-East’s turn to produce the next president stated that Okowa’s pick is a consolation for them.

OYC added that it opposes Wike’s selection as Atiku’s running mate because he has disowned Ndigbo.

This warning was issued by the supreme Igbo organization in a statement signed by President-General Okwu Nnabuike and Secretary-General Obinna Achuonye.

The statement reads, “It goes without saying that we anticipated both the PDP and the APC to allocate their presidential nominations to the South-East, but neither party did so.

“Although this has been overtaken by events, the only consolation we have is that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar chose Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate, as Okowa is a true Igbo son.”

In light of the foregoing, how could anyone wake up and consider replacing Okowa with Wike? As much as we are aware that Atiku has the right to choose his running mate, we also have the right to vote according to our preferences.”

It is certain that the PDP would not receive a single vote from Igbo land if they nominated Wike, as he has disowned Ndigbo. ” He stated that he is being punished since he is not one of us; we also do not know him. Should the PDP make the error of partnering him with Atiku, the PDP will suffer a crushing defeat in the presidential election.
