A group known as National Youth Peace Council, NYPC, has showered encomiums on High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo, describing him as Ijaw defender, voice, hope, and a listener.
The group President, Comr. Ellington Tam Bakumo while releasing these encomiums said Tompolo made many Ijaw youths gain access to education and other skills, and also attracted a Maritime University to Ijaw land.
He added that Tompolo brought Ijaw to the world map, saying “because of him presidents, vice presidents and acting presidents amongst other high personalities have stepped foot into Ijaw Land.
“Because of him Ijaws of Delta State have come so close to Governance of the land, because of him many have been saved in the hospitals, bills have been paid, many have come to have hope of livelihood, he has stood on the side of truth and justice and has made the Survival of his people his major priority”, he added.

Bakumo described High Chief Oweizide as God chosen and loved by majority of the Ijaw people, declaring that he is the true Isaac Adaka Boro of the present generation.
