The National Women Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Betta Edu, has stated that Nigerian President-Elect, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has huge plans for the people of the Niger Delta.

She said: “I think he has a huge plan for the region, some of it is stated in his action plan, but I’d go quite straight to the point. First, he will actually carry out capital projects in the region that will improve the living conditions of persons in the region. The second point is to finish up the work that President Buhari has started in the region and then of course the third one is to financially empower people in the region.”

She also pointed out that the former Lagos State governor will continue in his antecedents of using the youths as a focus for his administration.

Eddu said: “The youths are the focus of his government. Bola Ahmed Tinubu is someone who wants to give a lot to the youths. There is a whole lot for young people in terms of employment, education and others.”

The former Cross River State Commissioner of Health also stated that the incoming administration will be concerned about the educational sector as it affects the people of the region. Particularly, student’ loans, and scholarship for students in the region, noting that peace and security in the region, will also be at the front burners of the incoming administration.

Speaking concerning the challenges confronting the youths of the region particularly in the area of unemployment, Edu stated that youths would be at the forefront of Tinubu’s government.

She added: “If you know him, you will find out that he is somebody who works a lot with young people, that’s not a doubt, it’s a given. He has equally said that he is going to create business Hubs across Nigeria where young people can be more innovative and can work to become the next China where we can do innovations, technology and ICT, and name it.

“So there’s a whole lot for young people, Tinubu has promised them employment. He has promised them education backup so that every child can go to school. You heard him very clearly yesterday when he said that four years will be four years and all these incessant strikes will stop and you have student loans that you can happily use and finish your education. So all of those are in the offering for young people in Nigeria.”

GbaramatuVoice recalls Bola Ahmed Tinubu was in the early hours of Wednesday February 1, 2023, declared winner of the Saturday February 25, Presidential election organized in the country by the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) after polling a 8, 794,726 votes to defeat seventeen (17) other contenders.
