By Ekanpou Enewaredideke

Chief Dr Julius Takeme, a memorably situated transporter of transformational theories and thoughts, UN Peace Ambassador, Justice of Peace in Delta State, fellow Institute of Human Rights, fellow Institute of Human and Natural Resources, a recipient of deserving multiple chieftaincy titles as the Olotu of Obotebe Kingdom and the Esama of Isaba Kingdom, holder of an honorary doctorate degree in Public Administration from the Rescue Mission Theological University, USA, Senior Recorder Students Representative Council, Student Union Government(SUG) College of Education, Warri (1995-1996), Chief Adviser, National Union of Izon-ebe Students (1996-1997), President of Obotebe Clan Youths Movement (1994-1999), Co-ordinator of Delta Political Vanguard in Burutu Federal Constituency(2008-date) and President-General of Obotebe Kingdom Governing Council (2008-date), is a charismatic grassroots, national and international mobiliser whose ideological firmness and commitment to any task of engagement is inspiring and faultless because he daily carries a mind receptive to only transformational thoughts and theories envisioned to put smiles on the faces of the ordinary people. It is in recognition of this distinguishing quality of firmness that he has held different political appointments geared towards the betterment of humanity in Delta State and beyond.

Chief Dr Takeme, long pigeonholed as the personification of ideological firmness, consistency and transformational thoughts, is a functionally collaborative, focused, innovative, sensitive, sympathetic, compassionate, vibrant, dedicated, visionary, foresighted, multi-dimensional, composed, cultured and cerebral politician educationally equipped to cope with challenges of any colour encountered in any environment where he is privileged to operate in any given position. However, as the chronicles of his educational journey reveal, he attended Tara-ebe Primary School, Burutu (1979-1985), Burutu Grammar School, Burutu (1989-1994), College of Education, Warri(1994-1997),Novena University, Ogume (2012-2014), National Open University, Benin-City (2015-2016), Chukwuemeka Odumegwu University, Igbariam (2022-2024), Nigerian College of Administration, Lagos (2015-2018), Nigerian Law School, Abuja (2021-2022), Delta State University, Oleh Campus (2023 till date).

Takeme’s educational journeys produced great result. As a productive result from his educational journeys across the different educational borders in life, 1985, 1994, 1997, 2014, 2016 and 2017 historically marked the different years he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate, West African School Certificate, Nigeria Certificate in Education(NCE), B.SC (Hons) Political Science, Bachelor of Law(LLB) and M.SC. Comparative Politics and Development Studies, University of Benin.

There are always persons who naturally carry and transport transformational thoughts in any environment of sojourn. The natural carrier of transformational thoughts called Dr Chief Takeme is a doctoral student of Comparative Politics and Development Studies at a reputable university in Nigeria. More interestingly, he is currently at work to BAG a Master’s Degree in Law from a reputable university.

Beyond being capacitated by his educational pursuits from primary school to the doctoral level which have enhanced his capability for policy-formulation and policy-implementation, Chief Dr Julius Takeme has held many positions at different levels of governance as he was a teacher at National Comprehensive College, Warri (1995), teacher Obotebe Secondary School, Obotebe (1996), Transition Committee member, Burutu Local Government Area (2003), Political Assistant to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly (2006-2007), Chairman Burutu Local Government Transition Committee (2014), member Delta State Technical and Vocational Education Board (2016-2018), Hon. Commissioner for Urban Renewal (2018-2019), Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Special Duties (2019-2020), PDP Delta State South Senatorial District Vice-Chairman (2019-2020), Chairman People’s Democratic Party (2005-2008) and Secretary, PDP Reconciliation Committee (2010-2011).

Traced linearly from the educational achievements of Dr Chief Julius Takeme to his exposure at different levels, it is indeed a blessing to humanity that Dr Takeme is in Burutu Council today as the democratically elected Executive Chairman – a democratically elected Executive Chairman man from whom we are 95 percent likely to benefit maximally premised on his multiple experiences as an administrator at different levels of governance and as a Ph.D. student intellectually equipped to tackle the developmental challenges at the grass roots level and come home victorious from a bloodless war of governance and administration.
