Tension: Police mount surveillance, block Saraki’s convoy

Ahead of his appearance for interrogation this morning, the Nigeria Police Force has mounted surveillance on the residence of the President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki at Lake Chad Crescent in Maitama, Abuja.

Also, the road leading to the residence was sealed with Saraki’s convoy blocked for about 30 minutes.

The convoy had taken off at about 7am but was delayed by the Police siege until 7.30am.

When the convoy was cleared to go, some police vehicles trailed it up to the National Assembly complex.

It was gathered that the police team had acted on some clues that Saraki might not meet with detectives today.

But the Senate President was said to be prepared to honour the police invitation as at press time.

“His position has not changed as I speak with you “, a source said.
