The ongoing crisis in Rivers State has taken a new and significant turn, as GbaramatuVoice has learned that 24 out of the 32 lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly have signed a notice to initiate the impeachment of Governor Sim Fubara.
Earlier this morning, the House of Assembly complex was set ablaze by unidentified individuals, amid rumors that the state governor was to be impeached today.
The House is now preparing to transmit the impeachment notice to the State Chief Judge, who will establish a judicial panel to assess the allegations brought against the governor.
