Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and former governor of Akwa Ibom state, Chief Godswill Akpabio, has formally joined the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential race for the 2023 election.
Senator Akpabio made the declaration Wednesday before a mammoth crowd at Ikot Ekpene Stadium in Akwa Ibom State.
During the declaration, the youths of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were seen carrying a coffin with the inscription “R.I.P PDP.”

Akpabio, a former two term governor of the Akwa Ibom State and immediate past Senate Minority, promised to place priority on security and economy if elected.
He listed numerous projects he provided in Akwa Ibom including free and compulsory education, good road network and other facilities in the state saying his achievements could be replicated in Nigeria if given the opportunity by the All Progressive Congress (APC) to fly its flag during primary election.
