Prominent Ijaw monarch in Bayelsa, Oboro VII, joins ancestors after 21 years on the throne
The Amananaowei of Amassoma kingdom in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa state, His Royal Majesty, Major Graham Pele-ebimo Naigba (Rtd), Oboro VII, has journeyed yonder.
The monarch passed on to join his ancestors on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 75.
The spokesman of Amassoma Council of Chiefs, Chief Ebikeme Ibomo, confirmed the demise of the monarch to GbaramatuVoice on Wednesday.

The traditional ruler who was a retired major in Nigerian Army, ascended the throne in 2001 and ruled for twenty-one (21) years.
Oboro VII was born 19th January, 1947 in Okolobo-Pele Amassoma to late Chief Abadi Naingba who was the Ogoni 10 Birinanaowei of Ogoni Biri, (Clan Head). His Mother Late Mrs Love Naingba (Nee Safiyai).
After his early standard six schooling he proceeded to join the Nigerian Army and rose through to ranks, got commissioned and retired as a senior officer with the rank of Major.
He served meritoriously and was the best firearms drill instructor in Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna that trained most of the Military Generals. He retired and returned home to ascend the the kingship throne of his Forefathers and became the Oboro VII in August 2001.
Oboro VII is the father of the President, Ijaw Women Connect (IWC), Comrade Rosemary Oduene.
