September 26, 2020, witnessed the historic induction and conferment of the prestigious United Nation Award of Eminent Peace Ambassador to the Fiyewei of Gbaramatu kingdom, Chief Godspower Gbenekama and other eminent Niger Deltans.
At a well-attended ceremony in Warri on Saturday, September 26, 2020 the president of the International Association of World Peace Advocates, Per Stafsen lauded Chief Godspower Gbenekama for his countless efforts in speaking against ills in the society and striving for peace in Niger Delta.
In effect, the Fiyewei of Gbaramatu kingdom is now officially referred to as His Eminent UN Peace Ambassador Chief Godspower Gbenekama JP.
As an UN Peace Ambassador, Chief Godspower Gbenekama has become a member of the elite group of world citizens whose primary responsibility is to ensure and promote peace and harmony amongst humanity and in all facet under the UN 1994 resolution of SDG goals.
The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) is a body of concerned global citizens whose interest is to represent religions, races, and ethnic diversity of the human family, as well as all disciplines of human endeavor. They rise up inspired by a common basis of shared principles and are committed to the task of promoting reconciliation, overcoming barriers, and building peace.
Others inducted alongside with Chief Godspower Gbenekama included Chief Reuben Tonjoh; Hon. Ogah Isaiah; Boan. Philip Tonfawei; Mr. Labi Tonfawei, Dr. Godspower Tomone, Chief TM Douglas and Chief William Tortor.
The awardees are expected to attend United Nations conferences across the world including already scheduled conferences in the United States and Germany to share their ideas and input and be a part of the global dialogue on peace and security initiative around the world.
All the eight recipients were inducted with their full compliments, a diplomatic Identity card, UN Crest and other benefits .
