On the 12th of April 2017, the former Niger Delta warlord, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, the Ibe-ebidouwei of Ijaw nation birthday was celebrated at the Okue-emi hotel, Warri, Delta state.
It was reported that various personalities trooped in to celebrate him. Among the many personalities were the Pere of Seinbiri kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Charles Ayemi-botu (JP); Prof. Benjamin Okaba; Chief (Prof.) G. G. Darah; Prof. Tosan blessing Harriman; Rt Hon. Julius G. Pondi, Member representing Burutu Federal Constituency; Chief Favour Izoukumor, Commissioner Delta State Oil Producing Development Commission (DESOPADEC); Hon. George Ekpemupolo, Chairman, Warri South West Local Government Area; Barr. Eric Omare, President, Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Worldwide; Ambassador Preye Ekpebide; Gbaramatu Traditional Council of Chiefs, with many others.
