As part of its constitutional functions, the House of Representatives Committee on Maritime Safety, Education and Administration paid an oversight visit to the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko on Thursday 27 November, 2020.
The team was led by Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, Member Representing Burutu Federal Constituency, Delta State.
Others on the team included Hon. Dennis Idahosa, Ovia South/West, Ovia North/East Federal Constituency, Edo State; Hon. Kolade Akinjo, Eseodo/Ilaje Federal Constituency, Ondo State and Hon. Olatunji Shoyinka, Surulere II Federal Constituency, Lagos State.
They were welcomed to the school by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Prof Munakurogha Adigio and the Registrar, Dr. Alfred Mulade.
The team also paid a courtesy to the Pere of Gbaramatu kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oboro-Gbaraun II, Aketekpe, Agadagba, at his palace in Oporoza town to have a one-on-one discussion with the Pere and members of Gbaramatu Traditional Council, before proceeding to the takeoff campus of the maritime university in Kurutie and parment site at Okerenkoko.
