The age long words by Martin Luther King Jr. that “Our very survival depends on our ability to stay awake, to adjust to new ideas, to remain vigilant and to face the challenge of change.” Came to fulfillment on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Akparemogbene community, Ayakoromo, in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta state as GbaramatuVoice Managing Editor, Asiayei Enaibo, waded through obstacles posed by the raving flood in the community to marry his wife Inside a canoe.
This heroic demonstration of love by the man popularly called Talking Drum of the Niger Delta brought to the community an aura of festivity in ways that have not been witnessed in recent times by the community dwellers.
People who witnessed the GbaramatuVoice staff handover from the canoe, bride price to his new in-laws, who also stood on a raised platform due to flood, expressed satisfaction with his burning desire to perform the traditional marriage rites in the face of worsening flood currently ravaging the community and its environs.
They told GbaramatuVoice that Emily Ekanpou, his heartthrob must consider herself a lucky fellow for having such a man that cares as husband.
