PHOTO STORY: Excitement as PAP Boss, Chief Otuaro, Kicks Off Nationwide University Tour

The atmosphere was charged with excitement as Chief Dennis Otuaro PhD, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), embarked on a tour of universities across Nigeria, where delegates of the programme are currently pursuing their studies.

Starting on Wednesday, May 8, Chief Otuaro’s tour began with visits to Igbenedion University in Okada and Benson Idahosa University in Benin, both situated in Edo State.

During his visit to Igbenedion and Benson Idahosa Universities, Chief Otuaro received a warm welcome from the schools’ governing councils.

The primary objective of this tour is to directly engage with students enrolled in the programme, providing them with an opportunity to voice their challenges and aspirations. Chief Otuaro aims to gain firsthand insights into their needs and concerns, with a focus on enhancing their educational experience.

During his interactions at both universities, Chief Otuaro emphasized the critical role of the Educational Programme within PAP. He stated, “The Educational Programme is one of the key aspects of PAP that we know will develop the people, and when you develop the people, you will develop the society.”

Furthermore, Chief Otuaro pledged to address any issues hindering the academic pursuits of PAP beneficiaries and assured close collaboration with university authorities to ensure their success.

The Vice Chancellor of Igbenedion University Okada, Professor Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye PhD, and his counterpart, Vice Chancellor of Benson Idahosa University (BIU), Professor Johnson Oyedeji, in their separate speeches, expressed appreciation to Chief Otuaro for his visit. They thanked him for the partnerships forged over the years, which have resulted in the production of thousands of graduates.

Accompanying Chief Otuaro on this tour are key officials of PAP, including Mr Edgar Biu, Technical Assistant to the PAP Administrator; Dr Charles Ariye, Head of Education, PAP; Mr Okon Anthony, Assistant Head of Education, PAP, among others.
