One of the major challenges that children in the creeks of Niger Delta face just to be able to go to school is difficult journeys. Schools can be a hard-won luxury in some parts of the world. Many children in the coastal parts of the oil-rich Niger Delta, Nigeria have to make the most unimaginable and dangerous journeys on canoes everyday to access education.

It takes a serious minded person at a young age to paddle on a canoe to the neighbouring community or village.
