Rev. Tode Joseph Godspower of the First Baptist Church, Orogun in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, might have landed his church into trouble in the hands of the traditional ruler in the area.
Information made available to GbaramatuVoice, has it that the pastor attracted the anger of the traditional ruler after conducting a crusade and later, apparently sweeping the town for the purpose of warding off evil spirits in Orogun.
The pastor’s directive did not go down well with the Orogun Traditional Council who asked that the church be shut down till further notice, describing his action as a sacrilege.
However, in a letter dated April 15 2019, the monarch, Okpara-Uku, (HRM) Akpojotor Epko had invited the cleric.
Discussion was believed to be underway in resolving the actions on both sides, especially that taken by the natives who saw the pastor’s behaviour as “insulting the gods” of their land.
