By Happy Igbiriki

The Niger Delta student community has pledged its total support for Chief Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP). This endorsement underscores the collective approval of Chief Otuaro’s leadership and vision for the program.

The coalition, which includes prominent student bodies such as the National Association of Delta Ijaw Students (NADIS), Niger Delta Students Union Government (NIDSUG), National Union of Izon Students (NUIS), and the National Association of Gbaramatu Students (NAGS), among others, voiced their confidence in Chief Otuaro’s administration and its commitment to the development of the Niger Delta region.

Speaking on behalf of the movement, Michael Thikan, the National Director of Inter-Campus Relations for the National Association of Niger Delta Students (NANDS), expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Chief Dennis Otuaro. He described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Otuaro’s longstanding contributions to the region.

“We sincerely thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this strategic appointment. Chief Dennis Otuaro has consistently demonstrated his dedication to the growth and stability of the Niger Delta. His leadership of the PAP has already begun to yield tangible benefits for the region,” Thikan stated.

The student coalition also took a firm stand against critics of Chief Otuaro’s administration, urging them to reconsider their opposition. They emphasized the administrator’s clear commitment to fostering peace, stability, and progress in the region.

Other key leaders of the movement, including John Ikpidi (National Secretary, NADSS), Blessing Enigha (President, NUIS), Koffi Timothy (President, NADIS), Jonson Aweh Nanasintei (Financial Secretary, NAGS), Princess Joko (President, NABLOGS), and Martins Bebefegba (President, NAOS), echoed similar sentiments. They collectively pledged to work collaboratively with Chief Otuaro to ensure the success of the PAP and the continued advancement of the Niger Delta.

The students praised Chief Otuaro’s leadership as transformative, fostering development and empowerment opportunities for the youth and students of the region. They reiterated their commitment to partnering with him to promote peace and progress across the Niger Delta.
