He also acknowledge the kick-off of the Nigerian Maritime University in the Gbaramatu Kingdom reiterating further that, the other aspects of the 16-Point Agenda as raised by PANDEF will be implemented as the Niger Delta front liner engages the Federal Government strategically.
In his words, “We are here today in honour of the celebration of the young couples. Today, I acknowledge the vibrancy of our youths; they are hardworking vibrant youths of the Niger Delta. They are not lazy youths and I will continue to say that even when we come back in 9 months’ time, when we shall be celebrating the child dedication, the couple that we are celebrating today, will leave a generation that will be a generation, that will live in an pollution- free Nigeria.
“I thank God today that I can stand with the Gbaramatu Kingdom and say that the Maritime University is on. For the other aspects of the 16-Point Agenda, they will also be implemented. PANDEF is having a strategic engagement with the Federal Government and we are pursuing this through a restructuring.
“By restructuring, we mean justice. Those that are against restructuring are those who want to reap where they do not sow.
“We want to say that is the only path that the Niger Delta can give way to a vibrant and successful future for all of us. We must find a new way of seeking for peace in the Niger Delta. I want to speak to our youths anywhere they are, that we cannot afford to have another Adaka Boro losing his life,or another Ken Saro Wiwa,” he added.
On his part, the Deputy Governor of Delta state, Barr Kingsley Burutu Otuaro admonished the couple to love each other as he proclaimed a brighter future for them.
“You are a product of love and the Bible makes us to understand that God is love. May I crave your indulgence to refer quickly to the book of 1st Corinthians: 13 verse 13. You will recall the scriptures admonish us on the three factions of faith, hope and love called charity, and the Bible went further went to say out of the three factions, charity is the greatest.”
The Deputy Governor also went ahead to differentiate between faith, hope and love, saying that faith deals with the present, hope involves the future while love is for all times.
