A Niger Delta peace advocate and environmental activist, Chief Dennis Otuaro has said that Chief Timipre Sylva, a former Governor of Bayelsa state, would be the next Governor of Bayelsa State, come November 2019.
Otuaro who said this on Sunday during the 55 year birthday celebration of Sylva in Bayelsa State, added that Sylva was a competent leader and would garner the support of Ijaw people.
Otuaro said that Sylva was a man that had focus and a strong hold of the Ijaw people.
Otuaro also assured the people of Bayelsa state that Sylva was not only a defender of the Ijaw but also, a man who had done much to uplift the people without pretense.
According to Otuaro, “Our Governor to-be, Chief Timipre Sylva, is somebody that the Ijaw people will give their unflinching support irrespective of their different political inclinations.
“People need hope and we believe in him. When he was governor, he extended leadership beyond Bayelsa state.
“He was not a governor for Bayelsa alone; he was a governor for humanity.
“He loves people beyond boundaries and does not put politics first before human affairs.”
Otuaro concluded that there was nothing to fear in voting for Sylva, because he was not a politician laced with self-aggrandizement.
