Ondo State Gvernor Imposes 24-Hour Curfew on Ikare-Akoko

Governor Olurotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Ikare-Akoko, headquarters of Akoko North East Local Government Area of the state.

According to the governor in a statement issued by his Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, the curfew takes immediate effect.
In the statement, the curfew became imperative following the intelligence reports emanating from the community as regards unrest within the ancient town.

It was gathered that sporadic gunshots that had pervaded that community had also led to killings.

Following the imposition of the curfew, the governor directed the Police and Amotekun to ensure full compliance and enforcement.

Akeredolu also stressed that traditional rulers and religious leaders must rein in their wards and subjects.
Meanwhile, the curfew that was imposed on Igbara-Oke, headquarters of Ifedore Local Government since last week has been lifted by the governor.
