WARRI -The paramount ruler of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Pere Couple Mackson Oromoni, Monbene III, the Amakosu of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom have yesterday congratulated the newly coronated King of Tubutoru Kingdom.
The Ogbe-Ijoh monarch made the congratulatory call through his palace secretary, Chief Monday Keme in a statement expresses happiness towards the successful coronation of his Royal Majesty, Pere Gbebokedi D. Ajiri-Oba, Oguruyeke, Okirimini 1 of Tubutoru Kingdom, in Odigbo Local government Area of Ondo State.
Monbene III particularly called on the elites of Tubutoru Kingdom notably Prof. C .A Dime, pioneer president of the Ijaw National Congress, INC to throw their supports for the new monarch in combatting the scourge of underdevelopment.
King Oromoni however, frowns at the high level of underdevelopment that have engulfed the area, stressing that the emergence of the new King will no doubt reposition Tubutoru in proper light, explaining that the same problems the Ijaws are facing in Delta and Edo are the same problems rocking Ondo state.
“I congratulate the good people of Tubutoru Kingdom on the successful installation and coronation of their King. I appeal to the people of Tubutoru, especially the elites like Rev. Prof C. A. Dime and others to give unflinching support to the new King to succeed. I pray for God’s protection and wisdom in the course of piloting the affairs of the Kingdom.
“The emergence of Tubutoru Kingdom was one of the long struggles of the Ijaws in Ondo State in Odigbo Loal Government area, to create a platform to articulate their views, with the emergence of Pere Gbebokedi D. Ajiri-Oba as Oguruyeke, Okrimini 1, he will bring to the fore, burning issues affecting the Ijaws to public discuss.
“The same problems we face as Ijaw people in Edo and Delta are same problem the Ijaw faces in Ondo. Apart from Ese-Odo Local Government, Ijaws are minorities in other Local Government Areas and I expect this new monarch to stand firm on issues affecting the Ijaws in his domain. He should relate to other Ijaw Traditional Rulers on the issues affecting them as there is internal desire by the Ilajes to assimilate the indigenous and aboriginal Ijaws in Ondo State.” the statement asserted.
