A Non Governmental Organisation, Esther David Foundation (EDF), has donated writing materials to the schools in the riverine part of Delta State.
Materials distributed includes; exercise books, uniforms, pens and other learning materials to a number of pupils in Ebiabu Primary School 1 & 2, Kokodiagbene and Oboro Primary School, Benikrukru in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Delta State.
The memorable show of humanitarian service which was well received by the pupils, was tagged “Learning Ambiance.”
EDF Chief Executive, Ms Esther David who spoke with GbaramatuVoice noted that the NGO realized that children in riverine communities lacked adequate learning materials while many packed their books to school with hands.
Esther hints that the goal of the donation was to give the kids a sense of belonging, which will help them learn better and remain in school.
The NGO founder added that she felt fulfilled that she was able to contribute her quota to the children’s development as part of her goal to touch lives.
Meanwhile, the Head Teacher of Oboro Primary School, Benikrukru, Mrs. Gloria Okodi, expressed her joy over the support from the NGO, urging relevant authorities to show a little more concern about the welfare and survival of schools in the riverine areas.
