Residents of Ofunama community in Egbema Kingdom, Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State, has started suffering the perennial flood that has annually thrown them into deep despair, sorrow, anguish and sadness, as already bad roads become almost impassable, as in the past years.
A resident of the area, who witnessed the heavy downpour and the attendant flooding of the area, took some photographs of the scene.
The eye witness account of the scene was a rendition of a pathetic situation. “This is Ofunama Road in Ovia South West LGA of Edo State.
“The road as at Saturday February, 24, 2018 was completely impassable. Everybody were stranded for over 45 minutes before a timber lorry came and save the situation.
He pleaded for a swift response by the state government to the situation, as the community has been completely cut off from the rest of the state.
“Please help us stand against this long time oppression in the Edo state”. He said.
