JUST IN: Niger Delta minister meets Tompolo, Gbaramatu monarch over crude oil theft (PHOTOS)

The Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Development, Hon. Abubakar Momoh, on Sunday met with the former leader of the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo, in Oporoza, headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Delta state.

The minister also met with the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Oboro-Gbaraun II, Aketekpe, Agadagba, as part of his strategic consultation efforts to address the multifaceted challenges in the oil-rich region.

Momoh was accompanied by Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and other top government functionaries. They deliberated on strategies to combat crude oil theft and improve infrastructure in the region.

The minister conveyed Mr. President’s message, urging continued efforts to uphold peace in the region, facilitating optimal oil production and minimizing oil theft.
