Ijaw Women Connect (IWC) Worldwide is set to commemorate a significant milestone with the celebration of Ijaw Women’s Day and its 10th Anniversary. The event, themed “Re-imagining the Ijaw Struggle and the Quest for Gender Inclusion in Strengthening Regional Progress,” will take place on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the Wellington Hotel, Effurun, Delta State. The program will commence at 10 am prompt.
High Chief (Engr.) Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, will serve as the Chairman of the occasion, bringing his wealth of experience and leadership to the event. His Royal Majesty, Barr. Godspower Tam Oporomo, the Honorable Commissioner for Ijaw National Affairs in Bayelsa State, will be the Royal Father of the day, lending traditional significance to the celebration.
Prof. Benjamin Okaba, President of the Ijaw National Congress, will take on the role of Father of the day, reinforcing the event’s importance in advancing the Ijaw cause. Engr. Charles Amabaiowei, former Acting President of the Ijaw National Congress, will deliver the keynote address as the Guest Speaker, providing valuable insights on the Ijaw struggle and the imperative of gender inclusion.
Chief (Mrs.) Juliet Puke Kazeem will be the Mother of the day, symbolizing the vital role of women in the Ijaw community and their ongoing contributions to regional progress.
