Ijaw nation across the world sets to pay last respect to Mama Timiyan in Ogulagha kingdom
If there is an account in recent history that certainly confirms as true that ‘great men and women don’t decide to become extraordinary, rather, they decide to accomplish extraordinary things’, it is the life time account of Late Chief Mrs. (Mama) Princess Amoguye Timiyan, (Nee Diegbegha), who passed on peacefully on the 30th August, 2022, at the ripe age of 82 years. (1940-2022).
Mama Amoguye Timiyan is the mother of His Royal Majesty, Elder (Capt.) King Joseph Timiyan JP, PhD, the Torububou 1, Agbonu, the Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha Kingdom and the Chairman, Delta Ijaw Traditional Rulers Council.
The demise of this lovely mother, grand mother, great grand mother, sister, aunt and wife, was announced by the Ogulagha Royal Family.
She was until her death the Ebike Ogulagha-Ibe Miyen-Ere of Ogulagha kingdom.
Aside from her towering foot print left in the sand of time, a peep into the family she left behind, not only speaks volume but supports the above believe that Mama was a great woman.
This point also explains why Ogulagha kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta state will soon play host to visitors from across the world who will be coming to pay last respect to this amazing woman.
All through her lifetime, she was regarded as a beacon of hope to all around her and role model to womanhood.
According to the burial announcement as released by the royal family of LATE CHIEF TEKEPREKUMOR EZEKIEL TIMIYAN of Torububou Quarters and LATE HRH DIEGBEGHA SAGHA of Kpesigba Quarters, all of Obotobo community, mama’s funeral rites shall commence on Monday, October 31, 2022, with a service of song, billed to hold at the Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha’s private residence at Delta Palace Road, Effurun, Delta state.
The statement further added that on Friday, October 4, 2022, at about 8:00am, her body will depart Venell Hospital Mortuary, Warri in a motorcade to Miller Waterside via Vessels and Barges will convey her remains to her hometown, Obotobo community with live music to be supplied by Best May on the barge.
Lying in state will commence same day by 12noon at her residence located at in Obotobo 1 community, while funeral service will hold at about 6:00pm in the same venue
Interment is scheduled for Saturday November 5, 2022, by 7:00am while thanksgiving/outing service will hold on Sunday, November 6 at St. John Catholic Church in the community.
Mama is survived by children amongst whom are: HRM, Elder Capt. (Dr.) Joseph I. Timiyan (JP), Torububou 1, Agbonu, The Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha Kingdom; High Chief (Gen.) Jacob Timiyan; Capt. Anthony Timiyan; Chief (Engr.) George Timiyan (JP); Mrs Ekankumor Monday (Nee Timiyan), seventy three (73) grandchildren, three (3) great grandchildren and three (3) great grandchildren. The statement concluded.
Aside Ijaw indigenes who will be coming in their numbers, also expected at the event are very high profiled dignitaries which include governors, revered traditional rulers across the country, executives of international oil companies, religious leaders, captains of industries, politicians, among others.
