Ijaw christian leaders honour GbaramatuVoice publisher

The Publisher of GbaramatuVoice Newspapers, Jacob Abai has been honoured with an award of Media Personality of the Year by the Ijaw Christian Association of Nigeria, ICAN.

Pastor Ekpolade Eyiki led ICAN presented the award during the Ijaw day of prayer and praise held over the weekend at Shell Ramp, Warri Delta State.

The Patron of the association, Rev. Emmanuel Imeleye, said the award is given to the Publisher as a result of his impressive performance in projecting Ijaw Identity and the affairs of Community news in the Niger Delta.

Imeleye stressed that GbaramatuVoice is one of the most respected media outlet in the Niger Delta region, adding that it is the more reason the association deemed it fit to recognize the media house with an award.

He encourage Jacob Abai not to relent in his reportage, stressing that this award is presented for him to do more across the globe as far as Nigeria is concerned.

However, the General Manager of Gbaramatu Publishing Company Limited, Mr Enaibo Asiayei who received the award on behalf of the publisher, acknowledge the effort of the association for their recognition.

Asiayei who stated that the media house was established in 2015 said it’s legacy is known to people who believe in it, adding that it is on that great honor Mr Abai was honoured.

He said “The media house was established in 2015 our legacy is known to people who believe in us, it is that great honour, Mr Jacob Abai was awarded.

“We greatly appreciate the organizers for this, The Ijaw Christian Association of Nigeria as the award symbolizes commitment to community development, and peace building. As a media house we will respond in the media way, that you all know.”

“To receive the award on behalf of my boss, I have nothing else to say than to dedicate the award to God Almighty for hardwork, devotion and ambition in telling the Niger Delta story.

“Community projections in our own stories become so difficult, different people strive to tell the Niger Delta story, but some find it difficult to sail on, but others still continue.

“Some stand on the legacies of some people who want to be part of Ipost the Niger Delta story, aspirations, determinations, that is the symbol Jacob Abai represents to the people of the Niger Delta region,” he added.

Highlights of this year Ijaw day of prayer and praise was ministration, praise and prayer for the development of Ijaw nation.
