*INC boss calls for more unity
The Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Ernest Okwenze made the assurance on Tuesday during the Website launch of the Gbaramatu Voice Newspaper at Okuemi hotel, Bendel Estate, Warri in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Commissioner drives home the point that the website launch will undoubtedly push the Niger Delta issues forward and most importantly serve as a veritable tool in showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Ijaws and the Gbaramatu people.
In his words “This will no doubt showcase the rich cultural heritage of Gbaramatu and Ijaw people. In my place as a commissioner for Culture and Tourism, i promise to synergize with the Newspaper and I will ensure that with the launch of the website, it will shoot it Locally and Internationally.I will make sure that this promise is kept to the later and support the proprietor in any way I can.” The commissioner noted.
Earnest further added that he will make sure that his promise of synergizing with the Newspaper is kept to the later.
In similar manner, Engr. Charles Ambaowei, President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) commenting during the programme lauded the initiative of Jacob Abai, the publisher /editor -in-Chief, Gbaramatu Voice Newspaper for its timely establishment.
Engr. Charles in his brief but highly powerful message calls on the unity of Ijaws and Niger Deltans as a divided house cannot stand while also assuring that he will do everything humanly possible to support the Newspaper to ensure that it gets to its proper place in the Nigerian media space.
