A recipient of the federal government’s 2010 amnesty programme, Oleke Iyenkedi Stanley, has lamented over the non-payment of his outstanding arrears.
In an interview with GbaramatuVoice, Oleke, with Presidential Amnesty Programme registration number C04/B10/S1/13818, stated that he had been abandoned by the Presidential Amnesty Programme, after the completion of his overseas training programme.
Oleke had been drafted for a six months course in boat building in Sri Lanka, Singapore, from June to December 2011, after undergoing a 2 week orientation training in Obubra, Cross River state.
But after returning back to the country on completion of the programme, Oleke has not heard from the federal government.
He claimed that several attempts to notify the amnesty office about his plight, have not yielded any positive response.
Oleke further claims that several of his colleaguse who faced similar plight have been settled by the government after they cried out; but it has not been the same for him.
According to the complainant, his outstading arrears have accumulated to over N7,000,000, which is an amount that accumulated over 10 years period beginning from the onset of the Amnesty Programme.
Oleke is pleading with the new Interim Administrator, Colonel Milland Dixon Dikio to pay up and get him employment based on his overseas training.
