Member Representing Warri South West in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Emomotimi Guwor, has commended the people of Isaba in Warri South West and Aladja in Udu local government areas for embracing the peace initiative of the state government.
Reacting to the weekend peace pact signed by the two communities to end over three years feud, Hon Guwor said it was the desire of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa-led administration to ensuring peaceful coexistence among communities in the state.
The lawmaker said sustainable peace and security were key to development, noting that the decision of the people of Isaba and Aladja to end the 43 months feud was commendable.
Hon Guwor, who is the Chairman, House Committee on DESOPADEC, appealed that the peace pact should not only be sustained, but enhanced for sustainable development to thrive in the areas.
He enjoined the people to shun the antics of mischief makers and reject any attempt from any quarter to throw both communities into communal crisis again.
The legislator, while promising quality representation to the people of Warri South West, assured the Isaba community of greater positive attention from government and other development partners now that peace has returned to the communities.
The communal crisis between Isaba and Aladja communities resulted to loss of lives and property with both communities at the loosing ends.
