Delta Ijaw Youths Movement for Political Advancement, DIYMPA, a political pressure group in Warri, Delta State, has given the thumbs up to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for its rancour free presidential primaries held in Port Harcourt last week which produced Alhaji Abubakar Atiku as the party’s flagbearer in the 2019 polls.
In a statement by its President, Comrade John Dekawei, DIYMPA stressed that the emergence of Alhaji Atiku, the former Vice President of the country as the party’s standard bearer in such a convivial atmosphere was a sign of the good tidings that awaits Nigerians in 2019 when Alhaji Atiku eventually assumes office as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
DIYMPA also cited the issue of the cessation of cold war between Alhaji Atiku and his erstwhile boss, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo after a closed door meeting by the duo today.
According to DIYMPA, the cessation of hostilities between the two elder statesmen is a good omen in the healing process of the comatose Nigerian economy which Alhaji Atiku is billed to address when he becomes president in 2019.
DIYMPA also gave kudos to all members of the organising committee for coming up with a flawless presidential primaries in Port Harcourt.
He also congratulated all the PDP flagbearers in the 2019 general elections in Delta State with specific mention of Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa whom he stated has done enough to earn a reelection for a second tenure starting from March 2019.
