The Ibe-uyadonwei of Gbaramatu kingdom, Chief Dennis Otuaro, has bagged the 2020 GbaramatuVoice Niger Delta Award as Ijaw Peace Maker of the Year.
Chief Otuaro is a ‘peace-tivist’ and social justice activist who was recognised for his contribution spanning over 15 years in youth advocacy, peace building and Niger Delta development.
Presenting the award at the annual Bini-ebi Festival on Monday November 9, the Publisher, Jacob Abai, said Chief Otuaro stood out for his immense contribution to the development of Ijaw nation.
Extolling his virtues further, he said the activist is also a bridge builder, dogged activist and promoter of good governance.
“GbaramatuVoice, the Niger Delta leading and most trusted newspaper is proud to honour Chief Dennis Otuaro as Niger Delta Ijaw Peacemaker of the Year. We thank him for his work to address systemic and cultural oppression, his spirit of creative nonviolence, and his efforts to educate and empower the youths of Ijaw nation and the Niger Delta region”.
While accepting the award, Chief Otuaro, said he was humbled by the honour.
He said the award will encourage him to be more passionate and committed to the development of the Niger Delta region.
He thank the GbaramatuVoice Media House for finding him worthy for the award.
