…as organizers hold press conference on ‘Face of Gbaramatu International Pageant 2018’
For a hitch-free maiden edition of a beauty pageant being organized by the publishers of GbaramatuVoice Newspapers, tagged ”Face of Gbaramatu International”, the organizers of the unique event have addressed a one-hour, pre-event press conference, at its Warri corporate office.
At the press conference, the organizers explained to top select journalists who attended the event that it is a pageant aimed at producing graceful and stylish queens to lead a campaign to encourage the girl-child education, women in politics, cultural appreciation and business in Ijaw nation and also to fulfill the need to promote the girl-child education, preserving the pride and dignity of the girl-child, and to seek global recognition and advancement of the Ijaw and Niger Delta women.
It is also to address the needs of the Ijaw nation to position her youths in strategic positions for them to exploit the numerous opportunities that abound in their homeland. These can be achieved through the provision of platforms for socio-cultural interaction, skills advancement, talents development and promotion of education among Ijaw and Niger Delta indigenes.
Speaking further, Abai who is also the Publisher of GbaramatuVoice Newspaper and the Chief Executive Officer of the recently established GbaramatuVoice Television, explained that the primary focus of the programme are skills, talents development, educational enhancement of the girl-child in Ijaw nation and Niger Delta adding that it is barefaced that the “Girl Child” is educationally deprived as well as disadvantaged in access to skills and talent development.
While adding that the need for effective development of Ijaw and Niger Delta girl child for excellence can never be overemphasized, Abai stressed that the Face of Gbaramatu International Beauty Pageant will act as a vehicle to bridging the knowledge gap that has existed for a very long time between the youths of the region and their counterparts in other parts of the world.
On the benefits to the participants, Abai pointed out that the event will see the winner go home with a mouth watering prize, an official car in addition, and an oversee trip.
Giving details, the GbaramatuVoice Boss further pointed out that sales of forms has begun and is available to all girls between the ages of 19 and 28 years as at 2018 upon the payment of Six Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N6, 500) to the designated banks.
The GbaramatuVoice group called on interested girls of Niger Delta origin to register for the 2018 edition of The Face of Gbaramatu International Beauty Pageant.
