GbaramatuVoice is proud to announce that its representatives will be participating in the African Women in Media (AWIM) Conference 2024, a prestigious event bringing together women leaders and innovators in the media industry.

Departing from Lagos International Airport on Wednesday morning, the GbaramatuVoice delegation is en route to Dakar, Senegal, to represent the Niger Delta at this landmark gathering.

The conference, scheduled for December 5-6, 2024, at the Pullman Teranga Hotel in Dakar, is recognized as Africa’s premier platform for women changemakers in the media sector. This year’s theme, “Media & Sustainability,” will explore pressing issues surrounding the future of media, including economic and financial sustainability, the role of media in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on media ecosystems.

Representing GbaramatuVoice at the conference are Mrs. Tamaradenyefa Vanessa Abai, Chief Operating Officer, and Ms. Tamarakarinade Donyegha, broadcaster. Their participation not only highlights GbaramatuVoice’s commitment to empowering women in the media but also emphasizes the importance of ensuring that the voices and perspectives of the Niger Delta are brought to the forefront in key discussions about media sustainability and its broader societal impact.

Hosted by ARTICLE 19 Senegal and West Africa, with the organizational support of African Women in Media (AWIM), the conference is expected to attract academics, media professionals, civil society organizations, and development actors from across the globe. It promises to provide a platform for thought-provoking discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among key stakeholders in the media industry.

GbaramatuVoice is honored to be part of this impactful event, as it aligns with the organization’s mission to amplify voices, address pressing challenges, and drive progress through the power of media.
