Gbaramatu Mourns as Gbenekama Loses Wife, Blessing

The family of High Chief Godspower Gbenekama (JP), the Fiyewei of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State, has announced the passing of his beloved wife, Mrs. Blessing Gbenekama. She passed away at the age of 40 on Friday, June 7, following a brief illness.

The announcement of her passing was made on Monday, June 10, at the Fiyewei’s residence in Effurun, where members of the Gbaramatu Kingdom and sympathizers gathered to offer their condolences and support during this trying time. Among the attendees were representatives from the Gbaramatu Kingdom Traditional Council of Chiefs, the Gbaramatu Ibe Gbolei, as well as community members.

During the meeting, High Chief Matthew Pudie, the chairman of the burial planning committee, alongside the secretary, Mr. Joel Tonjoh, announced the funeral dates and shared details regarding Mrs. Gbenekama’s passing.

The Service of Songs is scheduled for Wednesday, June 12, at the Fiyewei’s residence. The burial ceremony will follow on Friday, June 14, in Azama Federated Community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, with boats available for transportation. A Thanksgiving service will be held at the Anglican Church in Azama Community on Sunday, June 16.

Meanwhile, the management of GbaramatuVoice has expressed deep condolences to the Fiyewei and his family over the loss of his beloved wife. In a heartfelt message signed by the Publisher/CEO, Jacob Abai, they described Mrs. Blessing Gbenekama as a pillar of strength and offered prayers for comfort and healing during this challenging time.

Abai, the publisher of GbaramatuVoice, stated, “Mrs. Blessing Gbenekama’s passing is a great loss to the kingdom. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Fiyewei and his family during this difficult period.”
