Funeral rites for Bayelsa governor’s father, Pa Diri, begin Wednesday
Preparations are in top gear, for the burial ceremony of the Father of Bayelsa state Governor, the Late Pa Abraham Joseph Michael Diri, whose passing occurred on February 12, 2023 at the age of 88 years.
The invitation letter sighted by GbaramatuVoice, stated that the burial ceremony would commence on Wednesday, May 3, with a Service of Songs at Peace Park Onopa, Yenagoa by 4pm.
Also on Friday, May 5, 2023, Christian and Traditional Wake Keep will take place at Sampou Primary School, Sampou town, Kolokuma-Opukuma Local Government Area by 7:00pm.
According to the invitation letter personally signed by the governor, Commendation Service will hold on Saturday, May 6, 2023 by 10:00am, at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Sampou town, and Internment follows immediately after the funeral service.
While Outing/Thanksgiving Service will take place on Sunday, May 7th by 10am at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Sampou and Reception will follow immediately at H.E Senator Douye Douye’s residence in Sampou.
The late Pa Diri was a highly respected and revered teacher, a disciplinarian and Lay Reader of the Anglican Communion.

4. Outing/Thanksgiving service | Sunday, 7th May, 2023 | Time:10am Venue: St Peter’s Anglican Church, Sampou town.
5. Reception | Sunday, 7th May, 2023| Time:12pm| Venue: HE Senator Douye Diri’s residence Sampou town.
