A Non Governmental Organisation, Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF) has launched an educational support programme for underprivileged children in riverine communities of Delta State.
The project that is set to kick start on Monday, 4th to Tuesday 5th, October 2021 was born out of the prevalent rate of out-of-school children in rural parts of the country.
It’s targeted to reach out to over 3,000 kids in the Niger Delta region with over 10,000 notebooks, 3,000 Uniforms, pair of Sandals and other educational materials to Pupils of Delta rural Communities.
President of the foundation, Deacon Ernest Bebenimibo who disclosed this to GbaramatuVoice in Warri on Wednesday, explained that the programme tagged ‘Project Kit-Up to School 2021’ (KUTS) is intended to encourage and assist parents that are struggling to provide uniforms and other educational aid to their children in the riverine communities.
The programme that was earlier planned to kicked-off September 16th and 17th but was shifted to October 4th to 5th, 2021.
Bebenimibo noted that he is committed towards empowering children, youths and giving back to the society through educational programmes.
According to him, “We discovered that most of the kids in public primary schools are not properly kitted for schooling. They either lack foot wears or a proper uniform.
“As such in this project we shall be kitting up over 3,000 kids in riverine communities of the Niger Delta and its surrounding with proper uniforms, footwear’s and writing materials.
“The EBF Project Kit-Up to School 2021 is aimed at providing support to riverine children in their academic endeavors and educational pursuit and to encourage the kids to stay in school and put in their best to become better,” he added.
