The common colloquial “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder” is more in-depth than what meets the eyes as it is firmed up on not just the facial appearance of someone but more importantly on the pillars of the inner qualities of that person. The character, intellectuality and wisdom of an individual are more of concern to most people, organisations and brands when beauty comes to the fore of evaluation, especially when searching for a representative or a brand ambassador. In most critical cases, the facial glamour of an agent falls short of appreciation immediately the character and brain appears empty.
It is in this respect that Face of Gbaramatu International (FOGI) 2019 is set out to crown an intelligent, sharp-witted, and gutsy girl with good diction, simple and clear speaking voice to add a lot of value to the campaign for Girl Child Education and create awareness on the various causes and expose measures to mitigate breast cancer among females in the Niger Delta region.
It is against the above backdrop that Mr. Jacob Abai, the CEO, GbaramatuVoice Newspaper, who is also the Chief Organizer of FOGI maiden Edition, sets out to assemble young beautiful girls across the states of the Niger Delta to slug it out to know who becomes the CROWN QUEEN and Brand Ambassador of FOGI 2019 which will serve as the platform to amplify the voice of the girl child in the region to create awareness about the twin challenges of low standard of education and breast cancer locally and internationally.
To get the needed touch, Mr. Abai employed the services of a worthy Creative Director, Queen Elizabeth Peremoboere Tonghan, who is grounded in pageantry and has proven worthy of her terms of reference to organize and coordinate the activities of the contestants all through the program.
While some of the contestants are yet to adapt to the intrigues that comes with this first-of-its-kind program, a handful of them have stood tall and exhibited the requisite guts to compete favourably for the Crown during the first phase of the audition held at Okuemi Hotel in oil rich Warri, Delta State.
It is yet not clear whose guts is bold enough to wear the Crown as several worthy contestants continue to pop up at the gallery of FOGI 2019. This sustains questions that stare directly at the face; Who wears the Crown? Who deserves to take home the N1million, a brand new car, a trip outside the country and be a beneficiary of other consolation prizes?
The answers to these Germaine questions we hope to get at the climax of this journey.
Enjoy the ride!
